Default Masked Flowerpiercer (Diglossopsis cyanea) - Yanacocha Reserve, Ecuador

This is probably my favorite place on earth (so far). Yanacocha Reserve on Volcan Pinchincha just outside of Quito, Ecuador.
Great birds, lots of orchids, and breathtaking scenery.

The flowerpiercers are great. They tip their heads sideways - easy to anthropomorphize and suggest that they're curious about us... Cool birds and not terribly shy.
