You are very lucky to get your money back there are so many that don't . I raise birds , heard of tales regarding them ,one story is a person wired money for a Blue and Gold Macaw to be shipped what they got was a blue parakeet ..

I belong to another group that has to do with sewing. One of the members got an email from someone who was coming to the member's town for a vacation and wanted his daughter to have some "sowing" lessons. He specified how many hours and how many days and asked the member for the cost for said lessons. She asked the group about this and the upshot is that after he pays for the lessons, and she deposits the check, all of a sudden his plans change and he wants a refund. Of course the check is phony and if the refund is sent.....well you get the idea.

It is a shame some of the things we encounter.
A young girl who works for me went to buy a horse she found on Craig's list; arranged to meet the owners about 2-3 hours away in the country.
Instead of going with just her husband as planned, her aunt and two cousins also went along for the ride.
They were met by a rough looking couple with no horse who intended in retrospect to rob them.

So much for the world we live in /sigh

Thank you Pink Cloud for your caring words.

I wanted people to know.

I wanted to speak up and do something about it, no matter what it is.

I recently was tested on what I think may have been a "slamming" attempt (get me to switch phone carrier unknowingly).

Someone supposedly from Verizon called to "confirm" my business account details, and it was going to be recorded "for my protection".

It was explained that they had gotten comments that the prerecorded questions were hard to hear, so the woman "read them to me more clearly" as they were being played, then I was to respond.

After the first few, innocuous questions, i decided I could hear them OK if she would just be quite, so I requested that she let me hear the recording.

She hung up immediately. And I'm quite certain the questions to be answered on the recording were "identical" to those she read. Yeah. Right.

Amazingly enough, I got a similar call from another woman the next day, and when I asked for an umber so I could call her back and verify her being from Verizon, she provided a toll-free number as "proof". That time I hung up.
