Wow, what a show!!! Thanks everybody...this is a great thread! I'll have to go out and snap a few shots of the stuff hubby grows out there

A few questions:
1. Gloria, what is that red and white? It's the second in your original group of pics. I just love that! What kind of lighting does it take?

2. Dennis, that first pink rose is mine, right?

3. Gin, is that third one a hibiscus? It's beautiful!

Hay there Suz,

Look for --
(Aquiligia hybird) Origami Red & white.
Commen name is Red -white columbine hybird.

Very easy plant to care for. Very good for shadey beds. But mine thrives in southwest facing, Lots of sunlight, but consider then I'm in zone 5.
These should be kept well watered in higher lights, The rewards with more sunlight and lots of water are faster larger growth with TONS of lowers.

Dreaded leafminers can be a problem, although I've had a good year so far - Normally I would spray these down a few times as the leaves are beginning to come up - Once a week for the first month to ensure the plant gets sizeable and blooms well.
Feed well thru out the growing season.

I use simple dish soap this works well for me

Thanks Gloria
I think I'll just have to enjoy yours...there's really no shade on my property where it would get watered. The heat here in Zone 9 would probably roast the poor thing

So pretty!

Well, there goes that nice birthday gift!

Only kidding...I only asked because that's the rose you showed us in the chat room and I love it! Your wife does a great job with them

This is a great thread, awesome pictures everyone. I have lots of shots from last year, but not many this year yet. It has been so very dry here nothing is doing as well.

Here are some pictures of daylilies in my yard last summer. The first one is Queen Priscella, then Lake Norman Sunset, the last is Wizest of Wizards.
