Not an Orchid
As some of you know my other favorite are cactus and succulents. It is late in the year for this to be flowering (for me) but they started about a month ago outside and got caught with their pants down and the onset of our cold weather which slowed them down; didn't think they'd open at all. They finally opened with the warmth of the greenhouse.

Great growing. I love the mauve color of the flowers.
I'm not too good with cacti. I always manage to rot them.

Really pretty. I used to grow cacti but while they grew OK I never got them to flower.

That's unlike anything I've seen before. Usually I see the cacti with flowers that resemble chrysanthemums than these.
Nice.

Light is a major factor in flowering any cactus or succulent. Since living in Michigan our summers are "short" so my plants are out on the driveway from late April until mid October in full sun from dawn to dusk.

Doc fails to mention that he has an average of 9 flat tires a summer.
