Default Fungus Eyeballs

We photographed these weird fungi a couple of weeks ago. It was only when I posted them on Flicker, however, that I found out what they are - Earth Stars. Thought others might be interested.

Thanks, Joann - you must be hungry. I didn't think of anything edible when I saw them.

I'm rather amazed by some fungi - just the interesting shapes they take ... seems so incredible

They are incredible - I'd stepped over a big log and there they were - was taken aback for a moment since they did look like strange eyeballs.

The look really cool. I thought first of olives when I saw them as well.

How unusual!!
Reminds me of Macaroon cookies with dots of chocolate in the middle.
I must be hungry too......dinners almost ready. LOL

Thanks, Rosie and Judi. I must admit that they never looked like anything edible to me, and that's abit strange because I usually eat everything in sight.
