what you don't say... the most uncomfortable bed I have ever had (especially having a wound on yourback!) I am so happy being able to sleep on my bed again! :) and on top of that, the nurses coming in the room every 5 or 10 minutes to check or ask for something, starting at 5:30 am already... They could be happy I could not move much, otherwise I think I would have kicked them out of the room...

Hi Ramon,
So glad you are sleeping in your own comfy bed. I'm a doctor, but the last time I was in the hospital as a patient, I almost signed out "AMA"- against medical advice!

Hello Ramon. Good to see your out of the hospital already. Take it easy.

I missed this when it was your op, son not going back to University (long story) hope the post op situation is going well, Ramon. A coincidence is that one of my "real" (rather than virtual) friends has also had to have spinal surgery and is now making a good recovery.

Hi Hedge, thanks a lot! :) I am doing pretty fine now. My back is getting stronger everyday, but still needs a lot... on the other hand, the sequels on my leg/foot are also disappearing quicker than expected. My foot is not swollen anymore, and the neuralgic pain is almost gone. I have recovered about 90% of the mobility on my foot/leg, but still have no much strength on them (however, since 3 days I can use my both legs to walk up and down the stairs :D)

Get well wishes to your friend...

that's kind of you! She too had a nerve being compressed and had lost a lot of strength in her leg and it had been so gradual that she didn't realize how bad it had got. She is older than you and I by a decade or so, and has always kept fit with walking and swimming and was feeling very cheated by her condition, the surgery has had a wonderful affect on her, the pain in her back and the pins and needles went immediately.

She has suffered post operative local infection and had to have an awful lot of antibiotics, but she is already driving and walking really well.

I really do hope that you continue to get better as quickly as possible, and that your orchids are keeping well too!
