Default Stapelia gigantea

I grow the plant outdoors. Although it is rainy in some seasons here, the plant still grow well.
It blooms only in autumn here. The large blooms usually attract a certain kind of fly.

Very nice. Mine seems to have problems with over watering, but it is very forgiving. Thanks for sharing.

also known as a "carrion cactus" or "carrion flower" bec its fragrance is often of dead meat, and why it attracts lots of flies

grown outdoors they dont smell so bad and keep flies out ya house

I dont even water mine anymore and look what it does

I recently had a double blooming from this one and I see another bud forming. Can anyone tell me if this is a constant bloomer or seasonal?

In addition because of this plant, I have gotten very interested in the Apocynaceae (the family of flowering plants that includes Stapelias, milkweeds, dogbanes, Mandevillas, periwinkles) and have even ordered a Caralluma europea from ebay. The whole plant is the size of my thumb, so cute!!!!!
