Anybody have tips for selling student-grade (up to high school) instruments, without going to Craig's List or ebay?

I'm already talking with the middle/high schools in my area.

The oboe has been realligned, silver plated keys.

The clarinet is an Artley, nickel keys.

They're both in excellent condition. Not bad instruments, but not of the caliber that will get you into a professional group.

If you don't have tips, does anybody have kids or friends that would be interested? I can provide more information.

Do you have any music shops in the area which sell that sort of thing. Sometimes they are willing to either buy/sell second hand or even have a notice board where you can advertise second hand instruments. (The more people playing, the more music scores, music stands, reads etc they sell).

The one I used to go to did that. My parents bought my flute from someone that way.

Unfortunately arround here all the shops are either closing or only dealing in guitars and drums because mostly everyone goes online these days. Not sure if that's the same where you are.

I'd have to agree with Rosie.

Music shops are the best places to sell stuff like this.

I remember going into a local one here a long time ago, and that's what they did. They bought used instruments in good condition and resold them, often to students.

I'd thought of that, must have forgotten. Certainly would make it easier, but I worry that I wouldn't get as much money out of it. (I'm an awful person.)
