saved a few seed from one last year that my sister bought as a pot plant ....did not notice any scent at all.But it was plunked in the ground and was already stunted too.It only made two blooms all summer and one puny seed pod which I did save.

I simply tossed the seed into a pot with a bunch of other stuff and waited.Thye were crowded and shaded by everything all season untill ....everything else finished .NOw they have decided to show off a little to make me sorry I did not give them their own tub and more care.

And wow what a great scent this one has an intense honeysuckle smell...The only drawback is that it is a night bloomer but that could easily be overcome by placing it in a area that is lighted at night and in fact I may place a solar light by this one.Perhaps a few in the tub around them would not take much the bloom is yellow but would show well with just a minimal amout of lighting I think.

Daturas are beautiful, but they can become weedy if you leave them to their own devices. When I was a kid, we used to have a bunch of them growing in front of our house, and they'd re-seed themselves to the point of weediness each year. We ended up getting rid of them because they'd crowd out everything else, and because they're so toxic (my parents decided to take action when they learned about this).

But that's a nice plant. I'm used to seeing the ones with single flowers, so it's unusual for me to see one with double flowers.

the doubles produce fewer seed but can still naturlize ....here it is not that big a problem they are not as free growing in general here...although we do have the wild types as weeds in places it rare even for them to become a problem
