Yes. That's what Marty wants to do, and you could hike Central Park and map it. Another nice thing is it will tell you very accurately how far you have walked or hiked! The trip logs are the secret.

I have to stop by Costco, typically that's where I get most of the better toys. You just can't beat their return policy

btw, Consumer reports rates the nuvi 350 as their top choice, but it rates TomTom as best buy

I'm in no rush here, so I'll take my time playing with them first

Be sure to check for features you like and need. Tom Tom bills their GPS on easy to use, but what about updated maps? How can they be updated? Check software behind the GPS and what is the support. Out of the box is one thing, but years later may be another. Just my experience after having owned several GPSs.

Just testing you Ross ... NOT ... was not aware of that, friend bought one around the holidays for marine use. Garmin is a great manufacture, been around for a long time.

Damn, I was hoping that it would be portable! For me, the GPS will be 90% of the time used in the car, but ... I was hoping to take it hiking and mount it onto my mountain bike.

Problem is Marty, most of vehicle GPS units (Garmin at least) have goe away from batteries to required plu in in vehicle as power source. Not sure how you'd run one on a mountain bike unless you could provide car battery (12 volt) supply

That's what I did.

How is that Nuvo thing any different than my 3 T.V.s and about 14 sound systems That I don't even listen to most of the time. Just had to have the latest gadget...
