yea this isn't anything new.
Also becareful about windows next to doors.
When my house was robbed the window next to the door was broke and they unlocked my door.
Then they turned my house upside down, especially the master bedroom. They stole the van and used it to steal: a leather couch, TV, spare money and collectable old bills and coins, and other stuff, but the funniest thing they stole was all the food in my freezer. I'm glad I'm not living next to apartments with low income folks anymore. They also left tons of true valuables too. All sorts of fine art, large amethyst geode and stuff. I don't think they had the perception to know what was actually valuable, and resellable for cash.
