That is crappy they really need to go after the people doing that more agressivly.

I'm so sorry to hear about your trouble.
They say that if you use a debit card, you should enter it as a credit card and sign it rather than use your PIN. I think there is a legal limit on how much you are liable for on a stolen credit card, like $25 or $50.
When we leave the country, we notify the credit card company that we are doing so, and where we are going. We also leave a family member's phone number so that they can verify where we are.

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. I appreciate them. I guess there really isn't anything I can do but wait out the storm.

Still waiting for the bank stuff to get cleared up, but at least the bank agreed to reimburse my lost money and take back the overdraft charges. Not much I can do for my family, though. Only my parents will be able to resolve the problem, but I still need to look out for my sister. She got hit hard by what happened.
