This made me dream i was hired by a library, but they didn't have books, they had humming birds! and they were everywhere!

I've taken a lot of photos of Hummingbirds at feeder stations, and have seen them perch and drink many times. Some species always hover and sip, some always perch and sip.

Connie, you are so lucky to have had the chance and ability to photograph these birds. I having spent some time in Colombia have seen my share of humming birds, but in my ignorance at the time, I was blind and I could not tell nor did I know there was more than one species. I wish I could go back. I consider myself lucky just to see one or two ruby throated per year here in NYC.

I sure am lucky- my husband builds aerial walkways in places like Peru, getting frequent flier miles and we try to travel as much as we can. Birding is probably a bigger passion for me than orchids (heresy, sorry), and photography equally. I am in a blissful state when I am watching and photographing birds. |

Mostly they are for ecotourism; a few have been for research. He is basically a little boy who hasn't gotten past his tree-climbing phase- at 61!
