In the case of "my" owls, I haven't heard them communicating much this year. I hope their nesting didn't fail. I did not see any owlets this year, either. So...it's wait till late fall to listen for them discussing their territory limits. Barred owls start nesting around November or so here from what I have read. They have to get an early start because the owlets take a long time to train to hunt. Meantime, I'm glad the Central Park family got a good start.

So Glad to hear the Central Park babes made it! If they were successful and didn't find the nest site stressful that should hopefully mean they will nest there again. Which would be nice.
And I'll keep my fingers crossed your resident Owls too Beverly, hopefully you'll get some new sightings of them in the future!
