Default Epiphyllum time again

Hello all, it's time for the epis to start blooming again! I have a lot in bud out in the gh, but this is what greeted me this am when I went out to water. I got this when a friend moved a couple of years ago, they were plant sitting for friends and just could not take this with them. Their loss I guess... I have no idea what the cross is, but I was told that it was originally someone's grandmother's plant that they get when she passed, so it's probably Acker's Red or some such. At any rate, it is probably the most floriferous in my collection at this point.
Enjoy!
Adam

Mine is looking very slow and poorly after the winter weather, what with the postman leaving the door of the green house open just as the snow started and all.

I usually don't get flowers until May-June but at the moment it may be a case of will it survive?

My Barbara Ruth de Carli is blooming in the GH. I have had it for years without any blooms but last year I gave it better soil and decent fertilizer and it bloomed once. It has already bloomed several times and there are a couple of buds opening now with more to come. The rest of my epi family plants will come along better once they are outside. And my rhipsalis, wow, they really went to town this year.

I grow my epis alongside my orchids, winter and summer. In the winter in the GH they are watered once in a while. In the summer they are kept outside on the same plant table where my sun-loving orchids are.
Try the epiforum site. Serious epi growers and sellers who are honest. Good answers to your questions.

mine have almost always took about three years from a cutting but I have saw cuttings bloom once in a while so it varies....

light is bright shade about catt light would be pretty good I think they dont like full sun much or mine dont LOL burnt one last year but the do adjust to pretty bright light but full noon will do a lot of damage.
