Hedge, thanks! Oh those are a local nuisance duck called Muscovie. They are not pretty like Mallards or White Peking. They will breed with them however and make truly "Ugly Ducklings" because they all have very warty faces. They lay large clutches of eggs and multiply rapidly (at least the alligators are good for keeping that population down). They get in the garbage and tear open the bags if not in a secure can and poop everywhere. They will walk right up to you begging for food. They will stop traffic on busy roadways by walking across the traffic. Oh, they can fly, but seem to walk everywhere, very slowly. Arhhhhhhhh! Can I say more?? Most people have learned not to feed them and to get rid of nests and eggs when they find them and this keeps them at a managable level.
