Very interesting thread! I am not a big fan of coffee. My weakness is a good cup of tea! And that is where my other "addictions" come in. Besides orchids, I collect English china (mainly 2 patterns, Royal Albert Lady Clare and Royal Albert White Rose) and sterling silver (Gorham King Edward). I love to serve a formal tea to my guests! With china and silver and tiers of treats. Of course any orchids that are blooming are invited to make the room even more beautiful!
Don't you find that orchid enthusiasts have addictive personalities? It is not uncommon for them to have multiple collections. Of course, something we all share is the love of beautiful things!

That's so true, Susie
I can never have just one of anything...except husbands!
It has to be a grouping or a collection

Can you say .. Starbucks ...
and when I can't get to the bucks ...
I enjoy a cup of Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearl green tea or Roobios Tropical on these cold days of winter!
I love my little tea pots ... each tea gets a pot of their own ... so far I have 2 ... they are as addictive as orchids ...
Check out the teas and pots at www.teavana.com ... you too can catch da wave!

I know what you mean! I love teapots, too. I think I have about 10 of them. I am kind of set in my ways about tea. I usually drink Twinings Earl Gray or Indian Chai in the morning, English Breakfast in the afternoon, and Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time at night. But I like Formosa Oolong with Chinese food and fruit teas with a sweet dessert. Actually, I like all teas!

I completely agree.
I too love coffee, and also freshly grind it every morning, I have a range of coffee pots for whatever takes my mood - a French press, an espresso maker, and 2 Turkish coffee pots, although one is technically a cezve from Turkey, and other is Greek and therefore an ibrik. I also have a 1930s coffee service that I only bring out on special occasions! I'm scared of breaking it!

No I don't have any Carnival Glass. I knew a lady who had 100's of pieces so any I got that's where it went.
I hope to pass my collection along to one of the kids. The prices are down and I really had rather it be something the kids can remember me by. Oh, I collected all the solo work also. I have hundreds of records and sleeves.
You know it's always the same thing. No matter what the collecting item is of the moment you become obsessed to get that next one. I'm late to plates but I have been collecting hard to find epiphytes for years and still have a fair collection. But, as you obtain more and more some suffer as they are no longer the hot ticket you are after. I think it's the hunter gatherers in us.

Nic100 - You should check out the coffeegeek website & forums. Although I should warn you that it's a slippery slope to absolute coffee geekdom !
