...and decided to do a little bit of it myself today

Mystery Couple Starts "Magical" Chain Reaction | NBC Philadelphia

Today I was shopping in Kohl's using some Kohl's cash and had most of the third $10 voucher left over. Knowing I wouldn't be back at the store before it's expiration date, I handed it to the person on line behind me

It was a tiny little thing to do, really cost me exactly nothing! and made somebody else very happy...and it felt really good

We have been receiving pages of Subway coupons recently. I might eat there maybe once during the time the coupons are valid so if I see someone in line that doesn't have a coupon, I offer one to him or her. Although it isn't a really big deal, saving a couple of bucks is satisfying to most everyone and helping someone to do so also is satisfying.

Way cool! I didn't realize it until you wrote yours but I always leave grocery store coupons on the shelf near the product if I happen to see it's expiring at the precise moment I'm passing the shelf 'cause I'm not buying it

Aww that's great you guys! A couple times I had an extra ticket to an event - once a concert, once first showing of "Return of the King" - gave the extra ticket to someone waiting in line hoping to buy one.
I like your ideas with the coupons - I'll have to try to remember to do that

It's all good Karma. I have always left coupons next to items I more than likely won't buy. Either I choose to buy something different, or realize it's not really what I needed.

One time I went to Walgreen's and got a register coupon for $1 off my next shopping trip. I handed it to the lady behind me. She was so shocked, I told her to have a nice day.

Years ago some grocery store was giving stamps to paste in a booklet so you could get premiums. I wasn't interested so I routinely gave the stamps to the person behind me in line if she was interested. Funny, the stores don't do that anymore. I did at one time collect the stamps but I don't think I ever redeemed them.

Our supermarkets here in the UK seem to annually have offers where you collect 'vouchers for schools'. These can be collected by your kids school and will buy something like computers or gym equipment or something to help the school. You generally get a voucher per £10 you spend so come out with a little pile of them if you are doing a weekly shop.

We don't have kids so we always collect them and give them to collegues who do have kids. It costs us nothing to say yes rather than no at the checkout.

Some of the shop staff will actually pile up the ones which shoppers say they don't want then give them to the first person in the queue who does want them. We've sometimes taken a huge pile of them and given them out to people who are parents at work.
