I got an Arisaema triphyllum a couple weeks ago to plant in my garden. However, right before I am ready to plant it, some beetle got to it and chewed halfway into the base of the stalk.
I decided to plant it anyways, and the leaves stayed green for about a week until detaching fully.
Is there a chance that the plant itself survived this bout of misfortune and will emerge again?

Hopefully the corm is alright, I don't know how to make it come back after loosing its leaves, but as long as it has a corm it should be ok for next year.

Thanks.
It looked like just the above-ground portion of stalk was attacked, so here's hoping.

It's not everyday you see these available in stores. Granted it was a small independent nursery run by a guy who really likes some unusual plants but still. Feeling lucky to have found one.

Very cool leaf pattern Andrew. I will have to look for one.

Tindo one of those you sent me flowered the other day.

Oh that is soo cool! Yours flowered at the same time as mine, mine are blooming like crazy. They smell after 6 pm and fill the whole building with the stench. It was funny cause an instructor made an unscheduled classroom change and held his final exam in the room where the plant was blooming (stinking to high heaven). Well the instructor didn't smell anything, but the students kept complaining. It wasn't till I arrived that he believed the students. haha, they took their final smelling that scent.

Dieffenbachia blooming!

While watering plants a short time ago I was stunned to see my Dieffenbachia is blooming! Go figure!

I got this as a quite small plant 3-4 years ago - from the grocery store.

I do sometimes wonder about house plants grown for foliage - what their blooms may look like. I had for a few years a pink polka dot plant (sorry I don't know the proper name) and it bloomed like crazy in my window sill with charming tiny pink flowers.
So - now I know what Dieffenbachia blooms are like too ;)

You have a nice aroid there. Thanks for sharing. I think I would like to merge this with the aroid thread to keep things together.

okey dokey - I didn't know this was an aroid til I saw the bloom ;)
I was very surprised to find a bloom on this - I have just been growing it as a foliage plant.
