Default SCADOXUS 'PAINTBRUSH'

Here is a picture of a Scadoxus Puniceus Paint Brush flowering in my back garden at the moment. Very aptly known by the name Paint Brush. It is indigenous to our area.

That's so cool! It's neat to see a "paintbrush" from another continent!

North America has its own version of a "paintbrush" (probably several actually, but I only know one). Personally, I think your paintbrush looks a bit more brushlike. It actually has "bristles"!

Genus: Castilleja

The Castilleja is the red. The purple is alpine lupine. I wish I had some of my close-ups or a picture with more paintbrush in it. It's usually denser, but lupine is a very aggressve plant.
