Yea Baz! I vaguely remember the early 70's.

Thanks Bingo, I really didn't spend a long time observing it. but I could send you a larger size of the same photo if it will help. I hope your Ok and nothing serious.

Dr. H,

David thinks it is a Cymatoderma sp. I looked them up and it does look very much like something that that genus would produce. I could only find a photo of Cymatoderma elegans which doesn't look like what they photo is of, but the gross morphology does look right.

Hi Dave,

I think 4 expert mycologists from 3 different universities, one of whom is a mushroom expert, have ID' d it as Cymatoderma sp.
I had them stumped for a moment because they thought I found it in Illinois.

I'm ok Dave, thanks for asking-- it was quite serious cardiovascular problems but caught it in time! OB and OB on Facebook have been wonderful companions as I've been home recuperating!
