Another Bug
"What's up with all the bug photos," your probably asking. Answer: I'm just passing the time waiting for my plants to bloom. Only 3 of my chids are currently blooming, but I have 3 spikes on my Sharry baby, 5 spikes on my Noid Dancing Lady, 2 spikes on a Noid Dend. and 1 spike on another Noid Dend. There are also some potential bloomers with swollen sheaths. One is a smbna 'Firefly' and the other a Schomburgkia thomsoniana. It's a bit early to make a call on the last two but things are looking good and I'm hoping they produce late summer/early fall blooms.
In the mean time I'll share my latest bug pic. This dragonfly was perched on a Dendrobium on my back porch. I took his photo and then captured him and released him outside the screened enclosure. Dragonflies frequently visit this area but they have a difficult time finding their own way out. They frantically fly about and beat themselves up in the process. I assist these beautiful "mosquito eaters" so they don't perish.
