I followed the directions from a web site and cut them back about 1/2 way, but I didn't split them. The site didn't give a reason for doing this. I suspect that cutting the leaves back directs more energy into root production by prohibiting the leaf tip tendrils from searching for something to attach themselves to. The website also recommended for succuss to take the cuttings during Spring.

Default Seeds I'm assuming?

I've had this specific pitcher plant for almost a year now but I've had other ones for much longer. I have never seen this growth on any of them, I can only assume its GOT to be seeds right??Success at Pitcher Plant Propagation-image-jpg

It does look like it to me, but I've never seen them either.

This thread is very old, so not sure if you will get a response here. If not try creating a new thread. Welcome to Orchid Board by the way.

Nope. Looks like a flower spike. Unless you have another nep you will never get any seeds. For that matter, even if you do have another nep blooming at the same time you might not get seeds. Nepenthes are dioecious. That means that the plant is either "male" or "female" and requires another plant of the opposite sex for reproduction.
