I read about an experiment some years back intended to demonstrate that some types of music stimulate brain activity better than other types. One group of college students studied for a test with some Mozart playing in the room as a second group studied in a room where rock music was being played. When they all took the test the next day, the group that studied with Mozart got a higher average score.

There have been other scientific efforts to identify the cerebral, physiological, and therapeutic affects of music in which examples of western music (as opposed to oriental music) from the Baroque and Classical periods rated especially high. The composers most frequently mentioned in this regard have been Mozart and Bach. In my opinion, the specific selections of music by various composers of the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods would be at least as important as the composers themselves.

If you’re interested, there is a lot of info on music therapy available on the internet. Here’s an American Cancer Society page that mentions a little about the positive affects of Mozart on the brain - ACS :: Music Therapy

Bach and Mozart also come up with a favorable mention in studies to detect correlations between music and plant growth.

Actually, the other night was the first time I have able to sit through any length of time in chat. The new software makes it worth it. I tend to have a short attention span But "hearing Tin sing might be worth another night of chat

Pecos Bill was quite a cowboy down in Texas, and the western superman to say the least. He was the roughest toughest critter, never known to be a quitter cause he never had no fear of man or beast. So yippee ya yay, ya yay, yippee ya yo, for the toughest critter west of the alamo.
Pecos lost his way, while traveling across the desert. It was 90 miles across the burning sand. He new he'd never reach the border, if he didn't get some water, so he got a stick and dug the Rio Grande!
