Kids are great!
We've had 3 cases not too far from here. All kids in the same class. One of them had just got back from Mexico. They closed the school and disenfected everything. All 3 recovered quickly and didn't get it real severe.
As for the hysteria about it. Yes, a lot of people die each year from the flu. That's why every year they come out with a vaccination. Unfortunately, there is no vaccination for this flu, so those already in high risk groups, have to way to protect themselves. And, as was stated, usually the flu is fatal in people with compromised immune systems, the eldery, and young children. However, this one has been fatal to people outside of those categories. So, although the current deaths from swine flu pale in comparison to the regular run of the mill flu, it could get worse if it were to get out of control.
So wash those hands everyone! And not just the quick swipe them under the water either! Scrub a dub dub
