This is an interesting thread. 'Glad I started it.

I should add as a side note that up until 5 years ago i trained horses. First it was Arabians for the show ring and then i got tired of all the politics for 'a ribbon' and switched to standardbred harness horses. I worked in racing for quite some time starting out grooming and then starting my own stable. After i got married and we started a family i dispersed my stable and worked for 14 years as head groom/second trainer for a leading trainer at Mohawk Raceway. I looked after top stakes colts and did a fair bit of travelling for the big races. Then I suffered major burnout and left the business to work at cleaning houses....I needed a break after all the hours involved with horses and trying to look after my family.:shock:

That must've been wonderful...except for the work! ;)

I as well must admit working for the US Government for 5 years from GA to FL, way to much politics going on, not sure how I survived those 5 years, but all I can say is immigration and IRS..:evil:

Ha ha Tony:_( Arabians were also my breed and I stopped showing for the same reason, way to political. But I have to admit tht my last Jr. horse and I held our own in the show ring, and I was totally unknown as a trainer:biggrin: Now we just cruise our neighborhood with a grown out bridle path:nod:
