Silly. Who ever heard of "innocent" research when it comes to plants?
Camille,
Two of my favorite succulents are Sedum 'Dragon's Blood' and Aeonium arboreum 'Atropurpurea' or The Black Rose. The sedum is hardy well below zero and the color intensifies as it gets colder, turning solid, dark red. The Aeonium is only hardy to 20 degrees F, so it's a houseplant for me. You can certainly find colorful succulents for your garden if you look around a bit. Succulents are nearly as diverse as orchids, and just as colorful, in their own way. Actually, if you count all the different families that are considered "succulents" lumped together, I think they are even more varied than orchids. Orchidaceae is the largest single family of flowering plants, but if you lump a group like succulents together, look out!

Nice pics snow! Your Sempervivum arachnoideum makes such a huge mat! I have some but they don't take up that much room yet. The Sedum acre is super nice when it spreads everywhere. Nice yellow color! Do you know the name of the first? I have it too, but it's a NOID.
Sue, maybe we should move the latest posts to their own succulents thread? That way we can talk about everyone's succulents without further hijacking your thread!
