Photogenic? I don't think so.
This morning, I went on the air to promote our local orchid society show and sale. This was a new experience for me. A few years ago, there is no way I would ever have done this, but I guess when it is absolutely necessary, you surprise yourself with what you are able to do. (Translation: Nobody else would do it and I am chairing the show this year.) Hope our show goes well this weekend. Supposed to get some snow, but I don't think it will be overly cold, so unless we get a whole bunch, we should be just fine. Wish us luck!

Hey, congrats. I'm sure it'll work out well. Now that you're famous, can I have your autograph?

This is
live TV, baby!! I walked into the station about 30 minutes before I was supposed to go on (5:45 am) and the first thing the interviewer said to me as I brought an oirchid into the news interview area was, "Is that for me?" His cohort on the air, aka weatherman said, "What is that, a lily?" I said that no, it was an orchid. When we started doing the interview, the guy said something about planting orchids in the ground. I told him that you don't plant those in the ground. He asked me what you plant them in and I told him that you could mount them with sphagnum moss, you could plant them in sphagnum moss or you could plant them in fir bark. He mumbled something about not knowing much about gardening, and we went on. What is scary is that theses are the people who are supposed to be giving US the news.

LOL!!
I didn't mean it that way. It's just that I think that it would be more likely to freak out on camera than over the airways. It is pretty much a known fact that one of the biggest fears that people have is speaking in front of people. Granted, that early in the morning, there probably are not that many people watching, but I have friends that told me they saw it and I had never told them I was going to be on. The only way I might do it again is if I get approached with a lucritive deal. LOL!!

If that had been me, I would have stood there, staring into the camera, forgetting how to talk. They'd have to slap me on the head to get me started!
