Record low temps are supposed to hit this week. They're talking on the news about arctic air headed this way, going into the 20's here in south Fl. by Tues and lasting through the week. Here we go again, bringing all my orchids (and others)...close to 200. Bad back, no room, been too busy, too tired and have a cat that thinks Phals taste good so, strategic placement is another burden.

What's going on in central and northern Fl. with predictions?

I'M TIRED OF THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am tired of it too! I think I may buy a space heater today for the shade house. It is wrapped in plastic, but that just keeps the wind off. I am not sure how I could do it but I have all day to figure it out!

We've had very low 30s for the very early morning hours these past two nights here. Just checked Weather Underground and every night is expected to go to 31...and Thursday a.m. says 23 degrees!

My husband is talking about eventually having our home heating system vented into the orchid room instead of running the space heater constantly.

I'm SO sick of this cold weather...and for you folks in the rest of the country who think we're delirious...

Susie , I would try to find one of the heaters that are filled with oil ? or water ? not sure what they have in them now . I have a couple of them one I run on the enclosed porch with a fan to move the heat around . What I like there is no open hot coils and no odor .. Gin .

I have one similar to this:
Sam's Club - Lasko® Cyclonic Ceramic Heater

and this one is what Gin suggests:
Sam's Club - Delonghi Safeheat Electric Oil-Filled Radiator
