Web hosting - who to use?

Hi everyone. I need your help, again. I'm going to get a website up to promote our newly forming society. I'm not a total techno-moron, but I'm not that advanced either.

So, I have no clue where to start. I've just done a few searches for reviews and ratings of different web-hosting firms. The reviews are all over the board. Does anyone have any preference or tips on where to start? Thanks in advance.

I use godaddy, their pricing is reasonable and I've not experienced any problems. Good luck!

No one else? I've seen some complaints about server down time and glitches and don't want to choose an inferrior host. What's the most important feature? Most have "free domain names" and other promos, but I don't want to be snookered.
