Happy New Year to everybody!
I got this in an email today and just knew it had to be posted here for all of my Orchidboard friends...
My Wish for You in 2009
May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts.
May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!
May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires.
May happiness slap you across the face.
May your tears be that of joy.
May the problems you had, forget your home address!
In simple words ............
May 2009 be the best year of your life!!!
Many of us had sadness and loss this past year but we've also experienced a lot of wonderful things along the way.
Life is good...let's remember that as we travel along the road in 2009

Very nice sentiments Susanne. I also wish all my Orchid Board friends great growing, great success, better weather , a new orchid on every shelf, peace, understanding, time to relax, better weather , great camaraderie (sp) on the Board, many more new friends because of this wonderful place to hang out, better weather , a great springtime bloom season (perhaps a fall season for you 'guys' south of the equator ), perhaps a new orchid or two on every shelf (Oh! I said that already). Well you get the picture! Have a great New Year!

Winter returned Sunday. More high winds. More power outages as the ground softened by the heavy rains, then got hit by strong winds that uprooted trees. Temps back into the low 20s. 2-4 inches snow forecast for this evening. Michigan weather is seldom boring. It is subject to change with little advance notice.
Only 5 months to May.

You go girl! These southwerners just don't get it, do they We northerners have gotten used to cold weather, can't ship orchids till April, gotta go to the beach in May (as long as that's Florida!) get used to growing things under lights and indoors! Whew! That's a long list.

Great, Susanne! Likewise, I wish everyone on OB a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!! And Ross, I wish you good weather as well. And to all other poor dumb Irishmen;
May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane. (especially Ross's)
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

OH NO not again
I didn't start this year in a good manner. Just pray that my kids don't come for a few days. I know what I will hear..............
I tripped over a stool and landed on my face....again. My forehead is bleeding, my nose, my cheek and my chin. My glasses went flying but didn't break. I'm sure I will be have a black and blue face by tomorrow.
I know what my kids would say.....see what we mean, Mom. You shouldn't be living alone.
Maybe I should just lock my door, and not answer the phone.
That put an end to my repotting for a few hours. My head hurts, time for a nap.
