Default No Snow Just Ice

I know many of you are literally covered in snow and I do sympathize with you, truly I do. But I think I'd prefer it to the ice we've been getting.

It's so dang hard to walk on that stuff!! Especially sporting insulated coveralls and boots and 2 coats, a hat, scarf and gloves!!

Yeah, I'm sure I looked sexy especially since someone must have washed my coveralls and shrunk them! I mean, what else could have happened to them? I couldn't seem to get the zipper up and I know peanut butter fudge had nothing to do with it!

Since it was 6 degrees and slick as all get out, a first calf heifer decided she just [I]had[I] to have her baby but of course, waited until nearly midnight.

Several hours later we knew she'd never have it alone. She needed . What fun! Rolling on the ice in the freezing cold!!

Due to the weather this winter, we also have a calf with pneumonia, another reason to be out on the ice.

But by Friday it's suppose to be in the 60's with a chance of storms. I hope the ice melts off the cellar door!!!

Now I've finally read a "winter weather" post I can be sympathetic for! Seriously. When I lived in Southern Oregon, I had studded tires on all four wheels and it helped - not a lot, but helped. We just drove through many inches of snow and made it just fine. That would never happen with "black ice" or icy roads in general. You have my respect for being able to drive through this crap. Take it easy and stay safe. Chains don't help a lot either unless you chain all 4 wheels (gotta steer, right?)
