Thank you so much for your prayers and kind words. I am in awe by all the outpouring of well wishes. The funeral was Thursday and it was a very nice service. My sister has been alone since Friday, but is strong and determined to get through this. I'm only a mile and a half away from her and she knows she can call me at any time day or night. They were high school sweethearts, married a year after graduation. She is lost without him, and frankly so am I. I'm eight years younger than she is, so I barely remember not having him in our lives.
He had a constant smile on his face and laughed often. That is how we are getting through this, by his example. He would be adament that we keep his memory of him happy, and not focus on the tragedy of how he died. After all, he died doing what he loved. So again, thank you for such a wonderful outpouring of friendship and kindness. I'm forever grateful!

Kiki, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing someone so unexpected is always so very hard. You and your family are in my thoughts as you go through this difficult time.

I lost my Grandmother the week before Christmas in 2002. I remember sitting next to her sister (my Great-Aunt) and thinking how much she looked like my Granny Bug. I put my head on her shoulder and began to tell her how much I wasn't looking forward to the Holidays that year and she told me not to be sad that my Granny Bug wasn't going to be with us that morning but instead be happy that she would get to spend Christmas in Heaven that year. Can you imagine the chiors, the celebrations, the decorations and the peace?

Merry Christmas, Kiki. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you Dana! Merry Christmas to you also. What have I missed? When did you change your name to coolphrog? And why? Inquiring minds (that would be me) want to know.
