OrchidWiz question
Can anyone help me? I'm trying to copy a picture from OrchidWiz to a picture file. Is this possible?
I'm working in Excel and want to post a picture of the orchid which I just entered into Excel.

Can't be done
There are only a small number of things that can be copied from OW...you can not copy and paste any of the Baker's cultivation info or the photos.

I was able to <right><click> on image. It popped up a message "image copied to clipboard". I was then able to paste it into Word. Didn't try Excell, but I don't think you can paste an image directly into an Excel cell. I think you have to import. That means you'd have to find a way to save the image from Word as a jpg image. I'll work on it and report back to this post if I am successful.
OK, here is what I did. I opened Excel (you'd open your existing workbook and highlight the cell where you want the image). Then I looked up an orchid in OrchidWiz and right clicked on the image I was going to try. It opened the Image screen for that image. I then right-clicked that image, which copied it to the clipboard (same as a <ctrl><C> would.) I then went to Excel and hit <ctrl><V> for paste. The image came in. Now the caviat is that it spread over many cells. So you would need to be prepared to edit that image. The image edit tools were automatically opened for me. Didn't go beyond this point, but try that sequence.
More info:
I was also able to paste the clipboard image into Photoshop where I cropped it and then saved as a jpg image. That image will import into Excel, just fine. You can resize in Excel by using the pick points. Corner points preserve aspect ratio.

When I right or left click on the photo it says that the image has been copied to clipboard...but my clipboard says "Item not collected, Format not supported".
But as already mentioned, it can be pasted into Powerpoint. Once in powerpoint right click on the photo and select "Save as Picture".
A really tedious alternative is to find the image in the images folder..
\OrchidWiz\Encyclopedia 4.0\Images
Unfortunately, they are all named with their ID number and I can't seem to find the ID number anywhere on the display photo page.

Thanks for the help. I'll try both ways. It sounds like we are all learning how to find our way around.
Thanks, Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, Two things, I didn't read the replies in their entirety. If you did not get a better solution use a screen capture program and treat text or photos as photos. At "full screen even lengthy text can be handled with some difficulty). Second My curiosity, my second daughter Sandara became the most receint grandma in our family are you more experienced in the role than she? D-D-
