Let's keep our fingers crossed that Texas doesn't get slammed

Royal...what is it looking like there?

Swamper 09-09-2008 11:42 AM

look like it eventually will leave Cuba, I feel bad for my homies they have gotten hit pretty hard this year....Texas looks like a possible target....

Thanks Swamper :)

I'll take hurricane information anywhere I can get it :faint:

I'm thrilled to see that there are no storms behind Ike...my cruise leaves in 11 days! :whew

Swamper 09-09-2008 03:57 PM

It almost seems strange that there aren't any behind. I'm glad though. I hope it's all over for the season. Wishfull thinking but why not right?

cb977 09-09-2008 03:58 PM

I'll take it...you just keep up that wishing stuff ;)

I guess they're thinking it'll just keep going strait. If it does, I won't see much of anything. vmaxx and orchidexpress might get more weather than me. If it makes a turn to the north like Gustav did, it could impact us more here in east Texas (I'm about 100 miles north of Houston). Folks in LA need a break too. Some are just returning home from evacuations.

I know some parts of TX could use the rain, just not all at once.

Swamper 09-09-2008 04:28 PM

Royal, for some reason I thought you were between Houston and San Antonio?

Royal 09-09-2008 04:41 PM

Nope, north of Houston and west of Shreveport, LA. The "Piney Woods" as they call it is not how you normally would picture Texas. I was expecting cacti and tumbleweed. But it's very hilly and has lots of mixed pine and hardwood forests. It's really a beautiful part of the country, more like the SE US than the rest of TX.
