Swamper, rain is good...as long as it's not 2 ft of it at once, right?

We're not really getting any of the rain, just sprinkles...but then again, Spring Hill is the little clear circle on the weather map when the whole state Of Florida is showing rain. We have been getting some of the winds though, nothing major...just a pain in the butt having to move the vandas. A number of them are in bud and I didn't want to take chances with damage happening.

We just got back from Sanibel and the sight from the top of the new bridge was spectacular to say the least. It was totally black out in the Gulf with areas of grey pulling closer to the beaches. Oh the WAVES!!! The windsurfers were having a hey day. We are getting quite a bit of rain now...making me a happy camper as I watch my rain buckets fill up.

Say a prayer for our friends in NO.

Wanda to celebrate that you and yours are safe, I think you should go to a big box store and look for orchids on sale. Be sure to check the dumpster before you go back home. There could be some good orchids in there!

I'm relieved to be back on the East Coast of Central Florida. Was vacationing in Sarasota, Sanibel and Captiva from the 22 thru the 27.

Yesterday I purchased 10 bags of top soil to fill in some of the trenches left by Fay's floods. I decided not to work on this project until any threats of these storms are over. Doing them now would just be an invitation.

This is one big muther of all storms, looks like mother nature is pulling out all the stops on this one!!!!

It seems to be staying a category 3 which is no picnic but it's a lot better then a 4 or God forbid a cat. 5.
Junebug...we need to keep an eye on Hanna heading our way on the east coast. We'll be ducking these guys till October.
