Bruggsmansia in Panama
Adam,
Beautiful plant! Brug. has always been a favorite of mine, but never managed to get them going successfully.
A couple of years ago we were in Panama, in the hcentral mountains, near the Costa Rica border, in a village called Guadalupe. Well the whole town was like a greenhouse, blooming plants of every kind all over the place, but what I had never seen before were Brug.'s the size of small trees everywhere. Whites, Yellows, Pinks. WOW! There were dozens of them around town.
The first picture is just one of a street in the village, the second is one I took shooting up into Brug. "tree". I zoomed it a bit . . . those blossoms were about 10 feet above my head.
We are going back again next spring, so I'll see them again, and try to get some better pictures.
Also in Guadalupe is a fantastic orchid "venue". Andres Maduro's Finca Dracula. Hundreds of varieties of cool-growing orchids, mostly indigenous to Panama (but that's another story).
Hope you enjoy this.
