I had to go to New York for the weekend for a wedding over the weekend. Getting off the plane I saw the sun for the first time in five days.
I was damp for three days straight and started to worry I might get jungle rot.
My orchids are great and I learned that I haven't been watering some of them nearly enough judging by the sudden proliferation of roots.
My landscape however is a wreck.
Hope all my fellow Floridians are well.

AaronM, I made the same observation that you did about watering. I grow in a greenhouse but I had about fifty seedling minicats from Sunset Valley Orchids that I was growing on a deck with a lot of sun. I was looking at the plants yesterday, checking for fungusl problems and all seemed to be thriving. New roots growth abound. I think though, that if I watered that much I would have some serious fungus problems.

Last report I heard was that it has reached hurricane strength. Sustained winds of 80 mph+.
Watch it closely, I've been through two hurricanes and know what they can do first hand.

I heard it was most likely headed into the gulf. Could be a Cat 3 heading into the warm Gulf waters!
