I swear my mailman on a regular day decides which day he wants to deliver mail and what days not to. However, in this storm they have actually come every day (I think). I skipped getting it on Tues and Wed. but had mail piled up in there so they must be making it! HAHA....

Don't make fun of our Koi! Haven't you heard it's the new state fish! HAHA...

June, didn't you know everywhere in Florida was just a few inches of rain away from being a waterfront property? That is the beauty of FLorida....LOL!

I think I am going rain crazy. Better go orchid hunting to cure it....Off to Tom Ritters and World of Orchids tomorrow! Will post pics...

Hi Royal,
Earlier this week, we got a little flood and the paper snapped a picture of a local "tubing" down one of the major thoroughfares...might have been "lubricated" by alcohol! Our yard filled to the porch, but the rain stopped and the water subsided.... How are you guys doing over in the East?
I am feeling for FLA. I think Fay is a new resident down there!

Hello everyone! I am back from my fun ride up and down the entire state of Florida during a TS/hurricane. I had to drive my daughter from Ft Lauderdale up to Florida State in Tallahassee (Go Noles!). Since the storm is never going to go away, we couldn't put off the drive. What a trip! We drove up on Tuesday (caught the storm mid state) and drove back today (caught the storm mid state again). It was drivable but just barely. On the way up we had been driving through very hard wind and rain for about 2 hours and it seemed to be letting up as we approached Fort Drum service plaza on the Turnpike. We took the opportunity to get gas and run inside for just a minute (let my husband suck down 2 cigs real quick). When we were getting ready to leave out the northbound side, we could see it was raining really hard on the other side of the building (southbound side). So we ran for the car just as the rain came over us. As we drove out of the lot and for the next hour we drove through even worse rain and wind. It only took us a couple minutes to realize we happened to stop as the eye was passing over. On the radio we heard about the tornados in Palm Bay and Sebastian which were happening as we listened. It was such a white out from the rain you couldn't even see the tornados. Amazingly everyone was driving sanely. Except one crazy guy on a motorcycle. We saw one SUV that rolled over on the way back but everyone was ok. I hope I never have to drive through something like that ever again!

Hope everyone is ok and all the 'chids, too.
