I have a NOID succulent that was purchased last year from a local hardware store. Originally it was growing in a 2" pot but was transplanted to a narrow bed that borders my front walk way. It's been growing like crazy ever since...even sending out a pup. It has never bloomed. Can anyone I.D. this one?
Not sure but google these names and see what you find:
Cotyledon elata, Cotyledon oblonga, Cotyledon ovata, Cotyledon ramosa, Cotyledon orbiculata var. oblonga 'Macrantha'
These are members of the Crassulaceae Family (Jade). I don't think it is Echeveria because it doesn't have the typical rosette formation. If you follow the link under my signature, you'll see pics of some examples of Echeveria
Thanks everybody. I think it is the Kalanchoe Thyrsiflora. Sad to read that after flowering the plant will die. Hopefully the pups will survive. It's really a great looking plant and produces robust growth with very little care. I have many other succulents, but am partial to this one.
The pup will likely survive.* It is like a banana tree, after it produces fruit it is in a slow decline to death, and pups, when the mother can be chopped allowing room for the pup to grow, while benefiting from a full rootstock.* Im not sure if this is like what a clone would be, or if it would have genetic differences like a seed, but either way you get another plant.
