Default what's near Lake City, FL?

Hi everyone,

We're going to be in Lake City, FL at the National Caving Convention. (I'm not a caver--that's my hubby's thing). I'm sure there must be something orchid-y in the area--Does anyone out there know of any nurseries?

Thanks in advance,

Jean

I don't live in the area but I found this for you ..
Florida Certified Nurseries Directory - Florida Certified Nurseries Directory
and this short list
Lake City, Florida Garden and Plant Nurseries
Perhaps one of them has orchids ..

Jean

Has your husband told you about Cave Orchids? I think they are usually gypsum formations, but they sure look like beautiful crystal flowers. Check this site for a good example.

thanks dorothy-I'll look at the directory

Jim-I did hear about "cave orchids" more commonly known as gypsum flowers. I think gypsum is a softer mineral that gets squeezed out between two harder rocks-kind of like toothpaste. I've seen pics-they're awsome.
