Reality check
My wife and I just went through a "should we throw that out or wash it" discussion regarding plastic bags. In light of the "go green" movement world-wide, I would like to know how many wash out zip-lock bags for re-use and how many just dump them. This is not a poll, just a stimulous for discussion. I already know Shannon will say she washes out her plastic bags ![Big Grin](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/biggrin2.gif)

I wash them out too. The only ones that I don't reuse are the ones that I use with raw meat.
It's a good way to save money.

Wash them and reuse them until possible.

If they had something stinky in them, I throw them out - otherwise I reuse them.
They come in handy as makeup bags and small totes for traveling .. ![Nod](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/nod.gif)

I'm horrible about throwing out and wasting. I am consciously trying not to do that, but it's so hard when it has become such a mindless habit. I try to use tupperware type products and reuse them. Baggies I just can't make myself bother to wash, so I try and avoid them alltogether.
Paper towels are also something that I need to curb on using. ![Sorry](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/big/sorry.gif) world! I will try to clean up my act! ![Tears](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/mecry.gif)

I do use the plastic baggies every so often, but I've switched over to tupper much more now. I do reuse and wash out "most" of the baggies - not for meats.
Still working on those paper towels though, but I'm getting better month by month ![Smile](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif)

Actually paper towels are recyclable. Baggies are the problem and why I started this post. I have mixed feelings about them. Yes they are petroleum based product, but consume so little space ![Big Grin](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/biggrin2.gif) Gotcha going here? Waiting to hear from some of the strongies like Shannon. ![Big Grin](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/biggrin2.gif)
