Default A rose blooms in the North Land

Just want to show that Bird Song Farm does have others plants/flowers than orchids.
This rose bush was purchased from the then local A&P store in 1989. It faithfully blooms every June.

Set it for your desktop wallpaper for the day and smile every time you see it, I do.

That's lovely Al! I know how to save the picture, but what buttons do I click for the smell to come through?
It must be amazing! Is that your only rose bush?

I'm still looking for the "smell the picture" key too!
I have two rose bushes of this type.......sorry I can't remember what they are called.
I have a number of the antique roses that you find around old cellar holes where the homes have long ago fallen in, and a couple of florabundas; Iceberg and Almost Wild.
Thanks for the reply, do you have any over there in the moutains?
Al

Al, I have three Rugosa Rose bushes. They aren't as hardy as the singles you see everywhere along the coast, as mine are the doubles. Supposedly you can pour kerosene on these bushes and they will still flourish for ya. Well, I've had them for 7 years now and they are only slightly bigger than when I bought them. My thumbs are not green when it comes to roses, but grayish! My Mom grew hybrid roses and they were gorgeous! That talent fell short on me.

That is just stunning, Al!

I'm sure the moment that Smell-a-vision is available, Marty will get it on OB

I know what you mean, my Mom could put a stick into wet cement and have it blossom a week later.

I think roses grown anywhere north of Portland don't do well here. I suppose there are some folks with the perfect sheltered spot where they are successful but I've tried all kinds/types, etc. and I only get one or two years out of them. One reason I'm so proud of this one. It cost me $2.99 (22 years ago) and I only get a couple of blooms a year but it is reliable!
