Back in April I went to a "Butterflies are blooming" exhibit at Meijer Gardens. Finally getting around to posting some pics. Hope ya like them ........

This one is actually a moth. Quite a big sucker too. He was 8" or so across.
is that a pot scrubber they have in a dish to help the butterflies drink the liquid in the dish? lol
Yes that is a kitchen 'scrubbie'. It gives the butterflies a place to land and keep their feet dry while still allowing them to reach their probiscus through the holes to drink the nectar solution. Not recommended for use outside in your own garden, as the sweet solution can also attract bees.
WOW . That is something to see . We make a point of planting flowers and shrubs that attract butterflies and birds to our garden. We have one plant, Crossberry Grewia Occidentalis, that attracts bubble-bees when it is in flower, it is quite a sight to see. Thanks for sharing
