LOL! Visited Meijer Gardens back in April (I know I know I'm just now FINALLY getting pics posted ......... so sorry to have been neglecting my duties.

Some cacti/succulents in the desert portion:

This plant cracked me up -- the common name they had on it was "Cow Pattie" LOL

In the tropical/bog area:
A couple of Nepenthes

My favorite Nep --- N. bicalcarata -- gotta love those dripping fangs!

A general/generic room of sorts:

This plant (Aristolochia grandiflora) was just too darned cool IMO ....

And the main body of the greenhouse:

This cute lil fella stayed so still most folks didn't know he was alive

Always amazes me how tiny quail are -- momma bird could very easily sit in a tea cup

Very cool pics, Paul. Especially liked the quail. Saw a bunch of them in Death Valley, California back in March and mistook their babies for fast moving dirty balls of cotton. :-)

Hey, this is where I hang out almost every Saturday!
Great photos! But I am so disappointed that you only posted 2 shots of my orchid displays. Just kidding. Was the photo of the tree frog on the light taken under the bamboo, or under the palm tree next to the center bridge? If so, I may have talked to you that day. (Unless it wasn't on a Saturday)

Almost everyone thinks that the Aristolochia is really cool, unless you have grown one in your yard. Can you say INVASIVE? About 4 months before you took that photo, that whole plant was cut back to a stick. Man, that thing grows quick.

Where is this place? Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. See meijergardens.org for their website. If I'm there, I will give you a personally guided tour of the place (Besides doing the orchid display, I'm also one of their docents) and may even be able to take you behind the scenes to visit greenhouse #3 where the orchid collection is kept.

Hope to see you there!

Crinums are my favorite plants...well, after orchids and ficus. Eh, bromeliads and epiphytic ferns are pretty high up on my favorites list as well.

sucuz, do you know if the crinum pictured is Crinum asiaticum var. procerum or Crinum amabile?
