Ok, I just took a look. Its the same flower structure. So at least we got the right family. I will keep an eye on these little guys and see what they do. If they don't grow up, I am calling my mentor because that would mean new species, muahaha. Yea right.

Cool!! At this point, I am learning botany, a lot I don't know. Landscape architecture, what is involved in learning that, and how hard is it to get a degree in that?

Ross, That looks just like the one we have in east TX (great photo, as usual). It is a true vascular plant, not a fungus. The photos looked different than what I've seen too. I just thought it would point him in the right direction. I could be wrong.

Not hard, just takes 5 years! Frederick Law Olmstead was one of the first and is credited as the designer of Central Park - You know that one, right The issue with all these sciences is the time it takes to memorize thousands of plants. People are amazed when I say I know a certain plant that no one else seems to know. But I had to memorize and be able to rote over 3000 plants when I was ready to graduate. That meant not only the plant name and ID (Latin) but also the cultural requirements! I still remember some of them Now I ad the orchids just for fun!

I don't think Ross' smarts are in his pants
but I know he is one well-learned man
Awesome photos, Tin

Hi all,
Went back today. Didn't find too much new stuff. The white translucent flowers are growing taller, looking more and more like Indian Pipe.
Ok, today saw the Day lillies in flower. And found whats called Motherwort. Alien species both of them.
Saw lots of yellow warblers, a bunny, and more toads. Sorry, no pics of these guys.
