Outdoorsie Stuff from Another
Inspired by Gloria (Lagoon), I decided to post some photos of my outdoor beauties -
1 - Shed Windowsill Petunias
2 - Osteospermum 'Astra Pink'
3 - Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Tradewinds Hybrid 'Reggae Breeze' ( Yoder Brothers, Inc.)
4 - NOID Rose
Enjoy!

Yes, my NOID does have a light fragrance
It's heavenly
Dave - How is your Hurricane Lily Hibiscus?
My Lily, Belize Breeze or the Montego Wind didn't make it over the winter
I might have to go to Hicks (local nursery) and see if they'll jump into my car, willingly, of course

Here is another photo of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Tradewinds Hybrid 'Reggae Breeze' in an evolved coloration.
This hybrid starts red, goes orange then yellow toward the edges of the petals .. it's like watching fireworks in slow motion
It's center ( or eye) is a very dark red ...

I'm glad you did D, I enjoy seeing what others are doing outside the orchid stuff, Besides the outdoor growing is really my first love
Your window box is a knock out, but aren't those waves?
That second hibiscus is gorgeous
My local garden store has alot to offer, large, small - different colors. Thought about picking up 1 or 2 but these do get large size.Gotta save room for slippers
The roses are beautiful

In the windowbox are petunias ( I originally typed in pansies )
If you notice in this photo - there are 2 different kinds - One is a light pink and the other is striped pink and magenta - the only tag I have is Supertunia Raspberry Blast (by Proven Winner)
The second hibiscus is the same as the first one I posted .. and in this photo it's even more yellow ..
and the third photo is Eclipse Rose Splash Zonal Geranium bred by Goldsmith (distributed by Fischer)
and the fourth is a NOID Clivia or Kaffir Lily

As far as hibisicus becoming large depends on the hybrid.
In the case of Yoder Brother's Tradewinds hibiscus, there are 3 different catagories - Breeze, Wind and Hurricane ..
Breeze are small compact flowers -
Wind are medium to large sized flowers -
and Hurricane are monster sized flowers
All have dark foliage that makes the flower color really stand out.
If kept in smaller pots become root bound .. best to break them up (many come 3-4 plants to a 6 inch pot) and pot them up separately .. They can go from 4-6 to 10 inch pots and larger in one season ..
and they have to be brought in in the winter time .. though they are hardy and can take lower temps - the frost will kill them ..

Simply lovely, Snow
I like your use of rocks incorporated amongst the plants.
Can you tell us what we are looking at
