Fertilize or not ??

I recently acquired a pitcher plant from my local nursery. Care tag on the plant advised to water thoroughly, bright/full or filtered sunlight. DO NOT FERTILIZE. So while browsing at another nursery over the weekend, saw the same plant, but sign above the display said Fertilize with orchid fertilizer. what to do
