Very valuable link. Thanks Dave. Just an anecdote: my new Kia Sedona stickers at 22 mpg (not a very good rate, but acceptable). I get that rate (exactly 22 mpg according to heads up display) but my wife gets 4-6 mpg with same vehicle. Her attitude is peddle to the metal, then slam on the brakes. Drives me crazy. It's even worse with a relatively powerful engine like the Kia Sedonna. I use the same principles explained in the movie and they do make a difference, for sure. I think American attitudes need to change.

I have been doing that without the benefit of a display telling me how I am doing. Im not as extreme, as I am often late for work , but sometimes I know I am going on nothing but impulse on the highway. I need to. I haven't got the cash to pay for gas.

Ross, I was unable to upload a video of a test drive (done by NBC) from Chicago to NY city. Same cars different driving styles only and the results where that one car had to refuel and one didn't. I hope to post that video. You could save up to 50% on fuel and if you look at it in dollars and cents it make 4.00 a gallon gas 2.00 a gallon. simple math

I did that with my old car but I havent tried with my '07 Civic (40mpg highway). The Civic is also really good in the snow, I didn't even get stuck once this winter...maybe I should put a plow on it!

My Saab does 40.8mpg (long term average over two years) and coasting downhill really does make a difference. I won't bore you with recent price hikes over here, but suffice to say we are paying about $11.00 a gallon for diesel now.
