It's not vanity, it's evil. You'd be smart to arm yourselves. It won't do much against the US military when they come for us but it will afford us some protection against our magat neighbors who try to "arrest" us when trump tells them to start rounding up "dissenters".

Anyone who has studied history past the 6th grade of school knows that religion has been at the root of most human caused suffering throughout the history of the human race. We are not nearly as smart as we like to promote we are.

Would really love to respond here with my actual thoughts, but as an administrator I won't. And shouldn't have said anything to begin with. Was hoping against hope that a semi-joking lighthearted response here would make this thread slowly die a natural death. Now exercising more restraint than I thought possible. It's torture.

In my opinion, "religion" is neither a problem nor a cause of conflict.

If you're intelligent enough to understand them, you'll see they they are all the basis of peace and serenity.

It's zealots who "cherry pick" certain aspects from any of the scriptures in any religion, then use those as a basis for pushing/controlling others that are the problem.

Religion was never part of my schooling in districts in upstate NY, North Jersey, South Jersey, USAF in England, or Washington DC, nor was it in my children's schools in southeastern PA.

No shooting - ever.

And then there was the gun lobby expanding the proliferation of guns. THEN there were school shootings.

WD, religion is a lot like sex. Meaningful to the participants but likely to be offensive to outsiders if performed in public. Keep it between consenting adults in private, and all is good. This forum is public. So no politics or religion, it's about orchids.
